WEBINAR: High-Fidelity GPWR Simulation for the Classroom
Building Better Nuclear Training Programs
Join the Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) and GSE Solutions for a discussion on how high-fidelity simulation is supporting university nuclear engineering programs and providing students with practical, hands-on learning experiences. Learn how universities and research organizations are using GPWR simulation technology to enhance education, operator understanding, and research capabilities.
This session will highlight how the Generic Pressurized Water Reactor (GPWR) simulator is being used in academic environments to help students better understand reactor operations, plant systems, and scenario-based decision making. You will experience a new state-of-the-art HMI providing overall plant status overview at-a-glance and efficient monitoring and control from operator work desks. The discussion will also briefly explore how GPWR supports research applications alongside IFE’s internationally recognized HAMMLAB facility for human performance and control room studies.
Topics include:
- Introduction to GPWR simulation
- Live scenario, demonstrating simulator and HMI capabilities
- Examples of university and research applications
